The Clash: Westway to the World is a 2000 documentary film about the British punk rock band The Clash. In 2003 it won the Grammy Award for Best Long Form Music Video.
JOE STRUMMER & MICK JONES LIVE 2002
The Clash seemed to be heading toward a reunion in late 2002. On November 7th, word came down that they were being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Just seven days later Joe Strummer played a benefit concert for striking firefighters at London's Acton Town Hall, during which he brought out surprise guest Mick Jones for an impromptu three-song encore of Clash songs. It was the first time they had shared a stage since the US Festival in 1983.
Over the next few weeks pressure grew on the band to finally reunite at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony the following March. Strummer, Jones and drummer Topper Headon were all on board, but bassist Paul Simonon wasn't having it. "I was the one who always said no," he said in 2008. "In this instance, I really didn't believe it was the right moment. A big corporate event like that, two grand a seat. Nah, that wasn't in the spirit of the Clash, was it?"
On December 21st, 2002 Joe Strummer sent Simonon a text. "Come on, Paul," he wrote. "Give it a try. You might even like it." Simonon wouldn't budge and Strummer reportedly considered going ahead with a replacement bassist. The very next day he dropped dead due to an undiagnosed congenital heart defect.
Sadly, the three-song Strummer/Jones set from Acton Hall was as close to a Clash reunion as the world ever got. Backed by Strummer's band the Mescaleros, the group opened with the 1980 deep cut "Bankrobber" before playing fast and loose versions of "White Riot" and "London's Burning." Fittingly, they were two of the Clash's earliest songs. Thankfully, the event was captured on video. Check out their performance of "White Riot."

Rolling Stones Cocksucker Blues Movie

Cocksucker Blues è un documentario inedito diretto da Robert Frank che narra il tour dei Rolling Stones attraverso il Nord America nel 1972, a supporto dell'uscita del loro quindicesimo album di studio, Exile on Main St..
C'era tantissima attesa per l'arrivo del gruppo, non essendo gli Stones più tornati sul suolo americano dalla tragedia del 1969 all'Altamont Free Concert, dove un fan di colore, Meredith Hunter, fu accoltellato e picchiato a morte dagli Hell's Angels. Il tour sul palco mantenne le promesse di grandissime performance rock e dietro le quinte incarnò lussuria, promiscuità ed edonismo.
Il documentario risulta estremamente realistico: diverse telecamere vennero lasciate in giro in modo che chiunque dell' entourage potesse prenderle in qualsiasi momento e iniziare a girare. Questo permette a chi guarda la pellicola di assistere a feste nel backstage, uso di droghe, pazzie di roadies, artisti effeminati e soprattutto, gli Stones privi di ogni difesa.
Cocksucker Blues era il titolo della canzone che Mick Jagger scrisse come ultimo singolo per la Decca, per contratto, e le parole e il contesto furono scelte apposta per far infuriare i dirigenti della casa di produzione. La Decca rifiutò la canzone che venne pubblicata solo più tardi su una compilation in Germania Ovest nel 1983, pubblicazione che venne comunque annullata e riproposta senza la traccia in questione.
Il film è sotto un ordine di tribunale che ne vieta la proiezione a meno che non sia presente fisicamente lo stesso Frank. Questa sentenza deriva dal conflitto sorto quando il gruppo, che aveva commissionato il film, decise che il suo contenuto era inadeguato e che non dovesse essere mostrato, in opposizione all'opinione del regista.

De Bethune DB25 ‘IX ciclo del Calendario Maya’
Secondo la profezia Maya il genere umano trascorrerebbe la sua esistenza attraversando nove cicli di una “piramide cosmica” chiamata Bolon Yokte Ku. L’ultimo passo, appunto il nono, sarebbe iniziato il 9 marzo del 2011 e concluso il 28 ottobre scorso, preludio della discesa in terra di tutte le nove divinità nella loro piena gloria.
Incantevole. De Bethune ha creato DB25 ‘IX ciclo del Calendario Maya’, un orologio novità 2012 in edizione limitata di 12 esemplari, simbolo di un mondo che sta per arrivare, dedicato a omaggiare l’ingegno dei Maya. Il piccolo ma ambizioso marchio ha ricreato sul quadrante l’atmosfera delle ceramiche e delle pietre scolpite dagli antichi scrivani.
Il quadrante in oro massiccio è stato inciso a mano da Michèle Rothen, e impreziosito da 31 inserti in acciaio azzurrato. Il cerchio che sta nella parte esterna visualizza le cifre con il sistema di numerazione Maya, mentre l’anello interno mostra 20 glifi di divinità, animali e oggetti sacri che rappresentano i vari giorni del calendario.
Al centro del quadrante c’è il baktun, un glifo utilizzato per il calcolo del “Lungo Computo” che comprende 144 mila giorni.
